How SecretLink Works

A simple and secure way to share sensitive information.

Cryptography at work

  1. End-to-End Encryption

When you initiate the sharing process, your secret is encrypted directly within your browser using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) GCM 256-bit encryption. This ensures that your data is secure before it even leaves your device.

  2. Secure Server Storage

Our server only stores the encrypted cipher and a nonce, along with a unique UUID generated for your secret. We never have access to the actual content of your secret.

  3. Unique Secret Link

A unique link is created by combining the server's UUID and the encryption key, which remains with you. Only those with this link can decrypt and access the secret, ensuring complete privacy.

  4. Share & Forget

Once the recipient accesses the link, the server decrypts and presents the secret. After viewing, the secret is permanently deleted, ensuring it cannot be accessed again.
